The Vision Screening Through Hospital Channels, Kenya Project is a groundbreaking initiative in partnership with OneSight EssilorLuxxotica Foundation (OSELF), aimed at revolutionizing vision care accessibility and affordability in urban underserved populations and rural areas of Kenya. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with vision problems by improving their access to essential eye care services, preventing avoidable blindness, and promoting overall eye health.
We are committed to bridging this gap by providing free eye screenings, diagnosing refractive errors, and distributing eyeglasses at no cost. By focusing on remote communities where eye care is scarce, we bring hope and transformation to those most in need.
Ultimately, the project seeks to enhance the quality of life of individuals with vision problems in rural Kenya, reducing the incidence of preventable blindness and promoting overall eye health.
Additionally, the project intends to support 40 facilities in the RUPHA network to set up optical units. Through training and telemedicine, we address the shortage of optometrists by equipping medical personnel such as nurses to diagnose refractive errors, ensuring comprehensive and accessible eye care services for all.
